AZZ has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Tax at our Fort Worth Texas corporate office. Reporting to the Director of Tax you are responsible for managing all income taxes including income tax accounting, tax compliance, and related matters. You will provide direct supervision, coaching, and development to tax staff and give technical guidance to tax staff, external consultants, colleagues, and/or customers. You have verified experience in tax accounting ASC740, external audits, and have a wide latitude for decision making.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages the quarterly and year-end tax provision process including a working knowledge of interim period and annual reporting under ASC740. Prepares tax provision items when necessary, including journal entries and uploads into tax provision software. Manages external consultants, tax staff, and collaborates with other departments to produce accurate and timely income tax provision calculations.

Manages external consultants (e.g. tax advisors, contractors, interns) to compile and analyze information for preparation of income tax compliance, including, but not limited to, US federal returns, and all related State returns and workpapers along with Canadian income tax returns.

Assists with forecasting cash taxes and estimated tax calculations.

Manages state and local audits and provides direction to external consultants and/or tax staff to work with tax authority auditors.

Assists with tax planning opportunities and modeling and implementation; collaborates with other departments to determine the scope of work as needed.
