We are seeking a qualified Tax Director to join our team. This position will reside at the corporate office in Irving, Texas and will be reporting to the Head of U.S. Tax. The Research & Planning Tax Director will organize and supervise the tax planning, controversy and research functions of the U.S. Tax group.

What You'll Get to Do

  • Analyze tax data to help minimize tax cost while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Review current structure of tax returns and supporting documentation and develop methods to optimize it
  • Oversee Internal & Externally Assisted Tax Credits Processes (R&D, IRA, State, etc.)
  • Discover tax risks and develop countermeasures
  • Research tax regulation implications on the organization
  • Manage projects for legal entity mergers, dissolutions, transfers of assets, etc. and ensure other departments complete all the necessary due diligence
  • Manage federal, state and local income and franchise tax audits, appeals and litigation for the U.S. group
  • Work together with company's accounting personnel and analyze book-tax differences
  • Manage tax due diligence for U.S. acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizations
  • Provide technical assistance and support to field personnel as necessary to help with federal and state franchise and income, sales, use and other types of state and local tax issues
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Essential Experience and Skills

  • B.S. / B.A. in Accounting BA or M.A. degree in Taxation
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or law license is required.
  • Must have at least 8 years of work experience in a tax department (public accounting or industry)
  • Profound experience in tax accounting tax compliance and all kinds of tax return operations
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to details
  • Ability to meet deadlines and find solutions to problems, focus on performance and results
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office, OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, and SAP
  • Demonstrate commitment to and application of Total Quality Principles
