Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking an experienced Lead Integration/Test Engineer who will lead the integration/test activities of ELINT LRU's on multiple G-550 aircraft programs. The Lead Integration/Test Engineer will be responsible for overseeing lab and chamber testing, investigating production test issues, determining root cause, establishing corrective and preventive actions, tracking progress, and providing status to internal and external customers. This position is also requires evaluating production results for trends and developing improvements in both the product and testing activities to increase the efficiency and yield of the production process.
Essential Functions:
- Provide Systems/Integration/Test engineering support on ELINT LRU's G-550 aircraft programs.
- Lead weekly program test/qualification/hardware meetings with engineering teams to ensure on time completion of program requirements.
- Provide technical direction to technicians and engineers in areas of test, qualification and failure analysis activities.
- Review and approve data for in house antennas builds as well as supplier components.
- Write and release test/calibration procedure documents and qualification reports as needed.
- Provide leadership in the development of technical staff through mentoring, and training.
- Establish strategic working relationships with engineering project managers as well as functional teams and technical leads.
- The ability to complete assignments on a self-directed basis with only high-level direction provided at the start of tasking.
- The ability to provide short-term technical support to internal and external customers when necessary.
- Oversee product development technical activities, and system integration activities to assure designs are technically sound and meet system level requirements.
- Collaborate with other design teams, test, manufacturing, product service, program and product management, and external customers in order to deliver high-quality system solutions.
- Support System Integration Lab (SIL) activities as needed.
- Support periodic supplier meetings.
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other technical degree strongly desired. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (SCI) security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Background or understanding of computer architecture and software architecture concepts and messaging.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with requirements definition, flow-down, and traceability.
- Proficiency in Linux
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
- Master's degree is desirable.
- Experience in design, development and/or testing of COMINT/ELINT systems.
- Hands-on experience integrating complex software intensive systems in a lab and/or aircraft environment.
- An understanding of programming languages, such as, MATLAB, C/C++, National Instruments LabVIEW, and National Instruments TestStand
- Ability to develop creative yet practical solutions to technical challenges
- Familiarity with EMI, vibration, and thermal testing
- An active DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance
