Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Scientist, Systems Engineer that is a proven leader and SIGINT technical subject matter expert. The applicant's duties will include product development, system architecture, proposal writing, technical over-sight, stakeholder collaboration among business development, manufacturing, engineering, and program management, while setting priorities for IRAD development through product roadmaps.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist IRAD team in defining scope for adding capabilities to current products as well as creating new products to address emerging needs.
  • Understanding of geolocation algorithms such as Kalman filters; be able to mathematically determine performance.
  • Work closely with the customer to comprehensively design and implement new system functionality.
  • Provide Business Development with the material needed to create new business opportunities.
  • Provide technical oversight for execution of contracts to ensure program goals are achieved.
  • Participate in proposal teams to align the system approaches for maximum re-use.
  • Define SIGINT products to support diverse program requirements.
  • Maintain product roadmaps and set IRAD development priorities.
  • Coordinates the use of contract budgets to enhance capabilities.
  • Facilitate the transfer of products from IRAD to production.
  • Can be used for responding to RFIs and RFQs.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
  • Definition and generation of detailed hardware and software specifications for systems, subsystems, and key components.
  • Experience using standard Systems Engineering practices to architect, design, and document new systems.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other technical degree and 15 years of relevant experience. A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Active Secret DOD Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Graduate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other technical degree.
  • Development of test planning/procedures of various test equipment including anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
  • Analog or RF hardware design experience including tuners, receivers, antennas, amplifiers, up/down converters, and radomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Analysis of customer requirements, including system and sub-system trade studies.
  • Digital hardware design experience including FPGAs and processors.
  • Entire Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and Activities.
  • Requirements flow-down to subsystems and components.
  • IRAD and Technical Baseline development.
  • Developing Interface Control Documents.
  • Advanced defense business knowledge.
  • Leadership - Task or IPT Leader.
  • Requirements Management.
  • Technical Communications.
  • Proposal Development.
