Overview:
In a joint venture partnership with Seton Medical Center, Ardent operates Seton Medical Center Harker Heights (SMCHH) In Harker Heights, Texas. At SMCHH exceptional associates deliver exceptional care. The 83-licensed bed acute care hospital opened in 2012, offering an array of services such as cardiology, emergency services, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, a dedicated women's center and a Level IV trauma center.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the delivery of personalized, professional and quality patient care, internal and external customer service, supervision of staff, coordination of technical imaging activities and performing technical procedures commensurate with the incumbent's level of education and/or licensure.

Responsibilities:
Provides planning and leadership to Imaging Services by developing staffing plans and technical staff education.

Maintains effective communication with medical staff, administrative staff, nursing staff and other team members.

Assists in the development and revision of department policies and procedures ascertaining that Joint Commission, local, state and federal accrediting and licensing bodies' requirements are met.

Assists the organization in incorporating the guiding principles into its radiology practice.

Assists in the Quality Assurance / Improvement Program of Imaging Services.

Participates in all inspections and surveys of the department.

Assists in the development and implementation of a supply inventory system ensuring that patient care is uninterrupted.

Orders medical and office supplies.

Assists in human resources activities such as interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, scheduling, verifying payroll and employee performance.

Coordinates patient care activities ascertaining the delivery of patient care is provided in a personalized, professional and quality manner.

Ascertains that the delivery of patient care and billing are compliant with the accrediting and regulatory agencies.

Ascertains that patient charges and/or credits are entered correctly by performing daily audits.

Performs diagnostic imaging procedures commensurate with the level of education and/or licensure.

Ascertains that the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) are current on a daily basis. Resolves incomplete patient files promptly.

Monitors equipment performance and ascertains that equipment issues are addressed immediately. If necessary, removes equipment from patient care until issues can be resolved.

Any other duty that may be assigned.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

Minimum 3 years of management experience.

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) preferred.

Licensed by the Department of State Health Services Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
