Job description

R- Description The Leidos Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) has an opening for an Aerospace Engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas. This role is responsible for providing engineering support for the development, fabrication, assembly, and testing of hardware for use on exploration missions and the International Space Station (ISS). The successful candidate will develop key skills needed for requirements development and verification, parts identification, hardware development, testing, certification/delivery, and sustaining. This position will review and understand engineering drawings as well as oversee and participate in hands-on development activities. The candidate will become well-versed in the quality process for the development and sustainment of controlled hardware, including the writing of Task Performance Sheet and disposition of Discrepancy Reports. This position will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of projects and delivery of hardware to NASA/JSC in support of exploration missions (e.g. Orion) and the ISS. US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successful obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are required. Primary Responsibilities: • Utilize project requirement documents and verification documents to develop assembly plans, test strategies/planning and produce test plans, test set-ups and procedures. • Complete functional development, certification, acceptance, and interface testing of hardware during the various stages of the project lifecycles. Correlate test results and complete data analysis in report format. • Determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes; incorporate results into system specifications. • Process hardware and assume ownership of all technical considerations for key elements of hardware. Interface with purchasing, quality, logistics, other HHPC stakeholders, and NASA stakeholders. • Perform writing and dispositioning of Task Performance Sheets and Discrepancy Reports. Develop and maintain sustaining engineering plans and controlled documents. • Administer trouble-shooting on both ground and in-flight systems. Disposition non-compliant hardware. • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, and policies/procedures. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 4 years of related experience
• Prior experience processing, developing, certifying, and sustaining flight hardware
• Experience with configuration and data management processes and submitting Change Requests • Ability to trouble-shoot hardware and perform root-cause analysis • Individual who collaborates in a team environment and works under minimal supervision • Strong communication skills both oral and written. Must be able to develop and clearly communication information to technical forums. • Ability to multi-task in a very busy work environment and keep up with a dynamic delivery schedule. Preferred Qualifications: Prior work with NASA/JSC programs (e.g. ISS, Orion, Gateway, HLS)
Proficiency with NASA/JSC tools: MIDAS, CDS, QARC, EDMS, ELABEL, EDS, ISS PART, EDRS/EDCC
Laboratory equipment experience (e.g. oscilloscope, digital multimeter, power supplies)

Pay Range: Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
