Job Description:
The Commissioning Project Manager for our Mission Critical Facilities groups is responsible for overseeing and managing the commissioning process for data center facilities, ensuring that all systems and infrastructure meet industry standards and operational requirements. This role involves project management, coordination, and leadership to ensure successful commissioning projects within the data center.
What You'll Do
Project Planning: Develop comprehensive commissioning plans for data center projects, including scope, objectives, schedule, and resource requirements.
Commissioning Leadership: Lead commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, and other critical systems within data center facilities.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and vendor teams to coordinate commissioning activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure alignment with project goals.
Quality Control: Monitor and oversee the commissioning process, ensuring that all systems are built and maintained to the highest quality standards and in compliance with industry regulations.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, test results, and discrepancies. Prepare comprehensive reports for management, regulatory compliance, and client communication.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to commissioning projects, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues as they arise.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all commissioning activities adhere to relevant industry regulations, standards, and safety guidelines.
Client Communication: Communicate project status and updates to clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring satisfaction with commissioning processes.
Budget and Resource Management: Manage project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and optimize project delivery within budget constraints.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related military or previous field experience is required.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
Proven experience in project management, specifically in commissioning projects for data centers or critical facilities.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within data centers, along with industry standards and regulations. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes.
Able to read and interpret construction drawings and one-line drawings.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software, including Teams, is required.
Experience with Procore software, is preferred.
Familiar with Bluebeam Studio/Revu.
Experience with Share Point.
Experience with file sharing platforms.
OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR certification (IPS will provide tools) must be maintained during employment.
Commissioning and System startup experience is a plus.
Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to successfully pass drug screening test, 10 panel DOT approved and background/security checks for on-site project access.
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Context & Safety
This position will have up to 100% travel to the site, or as required by the assigned project.
You may be assigned to the client site for an extended period.
Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client's location is possible depending on the assignment.
Travel will be per the IPS Travel Policy, client-specific travel policy, or project-specific travel plan.
You may visit active construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
This position is a safety-sensitive position.
The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
