Job description
This is a Temporary to Permanent Position if performance meets expectations and an opening is available you will be strongly considered for a permanent position.
This role will administer a test upon interviewing. Will share details once selected for interview.
For the Distribution Forklift Operator position, we would like for the candidates to have a valid/active Forklift License to demonstrated they have been trained in accordance with OSHA s Powered Industrial Truck Standard 1910.178
Regarding the tests we will have them complete:
1) Bentley Mechanical Aptitude test
2) Learning Ability Test
Forklift Operator responsibilities include:
Working in our Distribution Department driving a sit down forktruck in the warehouse environment.
Timely and Safely loading of semi-trailers and following loading procedures ensuring our customers are getting the right product and good quality product as you load. Follow FIFO or LIFO requirements, depending on where product is going to.
Unloading materials and consumer products from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places in the warehouse.
Locating and moving stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
Identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
Rework Product which may include lifting 40lb lifting and stacking cases by hand or dumping bleach bottles is likely.
Completing partial pallets, which may include manually lifting Finished good cases at the end of the run and combining with a partial pallet from a prior run, shrink wrap pallet manually as needed.
If open flaps are detected, close top flaps of cases with tape gun.
Know and adhere to all plant & OSHA safety rules.
General Forktruck Operations
Maintain and demonstrate certification of Dupont Forktruck training requirements
Complete all associated paperwork including tally sheets, put away sheets, if so assigned downtime sheets, timely and accurately matching shipping paperwork with product
Put product away with the right product codes and adhering to FIFO procedures.
Consolidate rows and maintain a clean and orderly warehouse which may require periodic sweeping, running sweeper machines and/or the scrubber machine
Load trucks following the bill of lading, and safe loading procedures.
Follow the Trailer Safety Procedures, 4-part control. (Jack stand, Lock Out dock locks, Glad hand locks, and wheel chaulk) and complete trailer inspection safety sheets before entering the trailer
Maintain secure docks after loads are released.
Ensure shipping document requirements or met (trailer#, seal#, etc) and trailer seals are properly installed
Load Chep pallets as needed by the teams to the pallet hopper
Unload pallets off the palletizer but DO NOT operate or interface with the machine
Maintain equipment
Maintain forktruck and any other equipment assigned.
Housekeeping
Ensure trash is emptied at the end shift
Ensure recyclables are properly separated and stored
Keep your work area assignment clean and organized WPO
Run the sweeper machine and/or scrubber according to the team schedule or as needed
Weekly clean your forktruck
Clean dump areas
Do not leave trip hazards or clutter or partial pallets or damaged pallets, put these items in their proper place
Team work
Work toward team goals
Notify Dock coordinator, Distribution Admin, or others when product inventory levels are low or approaching out of stock status.
Inventory Control
May perform periodic cycle counts as defined by the team
Ensure proper stock rotation
Requirements:
Maintain and demonstrate certification of Dupont Forktruck training requirements
Rework Product which may include lifting 40lb lifting and stacking cases
Work hours
Need flexibility on shift, main Shift 6-2:30 PM, occasional OT before or after shift
If hired permanent shift will be 2pm 10:30am

No tank tops
No excessively loose or tight clothing
No shorts
No ear pieces
No jewelry
Additional PPE such as, Hard hat, Lab Coats, Gloves, etc. may be required depending on the job/tasks
