Job description

Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking HSE Advisor to join our team.

What Does a Week in the Life of the HSE Advisor Look Like?

  • Coach and mentor employees to improve safety.
  • Ensure adherence to SII HSE Management System requirements.
  • Provide technical support as needed.
  • Oversee Worker Safety Teams.
  • Review JSA's and perform quality checks.
  • Encourage continuous improvement in safety.
  • Participate in safety audits and assessments.
  • Collect and share lessons learned and best practices.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations.
  • Assist with management safety walkthroughs and observations.
  • Conduct site safety inspections and assessments, and observation and intervention (O&I) cards.
  • Participate in safety planning processes such as Hazard Analysis, Root Case Analysis and Job Safety Analysis, Toolbox Talks.
  • Review of HAZID/HAZOP's and all other risk assessment activities.
  • Attend and participate in project planning.
  • Ensure that subcontractors meet SII HSE expectations.
  • During mobilization, participate in kick-off meetings and review commissioning procedures. Review load-out and transportation procedures and review training of personnel prior to field operations.

Skills (to Pay the Bills)

Here's a list of a few competencies that the HSE Advisor at Spitzer should have
  • High School diploma and three years related experience in HSE work for oil and gas fabrication industry; or equivalent combination of college education and experience.
  • Knowledge of HSE procedures and regulations.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; maintain appropriate communications within area of responsibility and between divisions and departments.
  • Proficient in applicable software applications including MS Office software.

Work Schedule

Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
