Our client is searching for a HSE Supervisor to join their growing team. The client is a leader in providing global on-site solutions that partners with the world's leading energy, power, and industrial companies to solve critical surface engineering challenges, enhance coating and welding techniques, and evaluate material performance. The client helps customers solve metal wastage and reliability problems in mission-critical equipment and are an industry leader in the development and application of solutions to corrosion and erosion problems in challenging operating environments.
The HSE Supervisor ensures that the company complies with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, following OSHA, EPA, state agencies, and client-specific requirements. The role is responsible for implementing HSE policies, managing safety programs, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations. The position provides local and international field safety support, prioritizing the safety of the companies personnel across all sites. The role also focuses on delivering safety training, supporting site management with HSE reporting, and maintaining compliance through effective administration. This position requires extensive travel required (a total of 4 to 7 months annually), with projects typically lasting 1-6 weeks. This position will work from their home office when not traveling to manager projects. This is a great company with lots of growth!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure site operations comply with the companies and client-specific HSE standards and procedures, focusing on safe work practices.
- Perform HSE administrative duties, including accurate and timely reporting.
- Promote the companies values by providing guidance to team leaders on professional conduct and safety practices.
- Oversee company-wide compliance with the behavior-based safety platform.
- Act as the onsite HSE Supervisor for North American projects, with occasional global project support.
- Ensure cost-effective compliance with health and safety regulations across all operations.
- Serve as a key resource for safety training, maintaining records, and coordinating with HR for compliance with employee training requirements.
- Administer safety programs and assist in the development of risk profiles to reduce workplace injury and illness.
- Provide guidance to operations management and communicate best practices to ensure compliance with HSE laws and regulations.
- Manage safety incidents, accident investigations, medical care coordination, and workers' compensation cases.
- Support new hire onboarding by conducting safety training and coordinating medical exams and customer-required safety training.
- Address and investigate employee safety concerns, unsafe practices, and near-miss incidents.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper selection and training.
- Support and participate in audits of the companies safety procedures and customer audits.
- Develop site-specific safety documentation and ensure compliance with customer safety standards.
- Conduct and track fit testing as required.
- Manage safety equipment inspections and ensure the job hazard safety analysis (JHSA) process is followed, providing training as needed.
- Conduct safety walkthroughs of the companies workshops and job sites to identify and address potential hazards.
- Support a Alcohol and Drug-Free Workplace program.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to safety, such as tracking safety metrics, workers' compensation claims, and emergency action plans.
- Manage accounts for contractor management systems (e.g., ISNetworld, Avetta).
Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic technical understanding of the companies systems and processes.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across different teams and levels of the organization.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions:
- Position involves work in challenging environments, including refineries, chemical plants, paper mills, and power plants, both in the U.S. and internationally.
- May involve long shifts (12+ hours) and work in full PPE.
- Extensive travel is required (4-6 months annually), including international travel for project sites and customer locations, with each project lasting 1-6 weeks.
- Exposure to hazardous conditions, including extreme temperatures, work at heights, and hazardous chemicals.
- Physical activities include walking, climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces or scaffolding.
- Office-based work is also required.
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Technical or Safety/Health Management, or equivalent work experience.
- 2-5 years of field safety experience in the Petrochemical or Power Generation industries.
- Safety-related certifications are preferred.
