Job Description

The National Director of Supply Chain will oversee and optimize the procurement and category management processes across all regions, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of materials and products essential for home construction. This leadership role is responsible for managing a team focused on category management and driving strategies to reduce costs while supporting the company's goals for quality, efficiency, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Management:Lead category management initiatives for key materials and products (e.g., lumber, windows, roofing, appliances) to drive value through supplier segmentation, negotiation, and optimization.

Develop and implement category strategies that align with company objectives and project timelines, ensuring that the right products are sourced at the right price and delivered on time.

Conduct market analysis to understand trends, supplier capabilities, and opportunities for innovation within specific product categories.

Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to align category strategies with project needs and building specifications.

Evaluate and improve supplier performance within each category, ensuring continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality, and innovation.

Vendor and Supplier Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure high-quality materials and services.

Negotiate contracts with national and regional suppliers to secure favorable terms, including cost, delivery, and service level agreements (SLAs).

Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and audits to ensure alignment with company standards and objectives.

Data Analysis and Reporting:Utilize data-driven insights to track and measure supply chain and category performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per unit, delivery time, inventory turnover, and supplier performance.

Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on supply chain and category management status, risks, and opportunities.

Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain and category-specific risks, including supplier reliability, fluctuating material costs, and geopolitical issues.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:Work closely with operations and purchasing teams to align supply chain and category management processes with project timelines and budgets.

Participate in new product development discussions to ensure the supply chain can support new initiatives and category strategies are aligned with upcoming projects.
