Job Overview:
As a Regional Facilities Manager, you ensure effective oversight and execution of preventive maintenance, support, training within a defined region of investments typically with less than 10,000 units. Provide feedback, guidance, and updates as appropriate to Service Managers, community teams, and Directors of Operations. Here are the roles you'll play:
Roles You Will Play:
The Educator
Ensure all communities in your region are following Cortland's maintenance Standards of Excellence (SOEs)
Provide onboarding training for newly elevated Service Managers
Offer ongoing guidance to all service and property management associates by ensuring monthly OSHA mandated safety and maintenance training sessions are completed
Ensure technical training is scheduled and attended by all service team members and audit on a regular basis to ensure training is applied in practice
The Evaluator
Ensure that all equipment, and associates alike, are operating in peak shape
Perform audits and inspections at your communities to evaluate maintenance and service systems to identify issues need to be addressed and areas for improvement
Perform quarterly business reviews with regional service contractors to ensure they are performing to the requirements of their contracts and providing high-quality work
Ensure key metrics are regularly reviewed and improvements are made to sites which are struggling to meet the metrics
The Strategist
Collaborate with all communities in your region to improve service processes for their operations
Monitor budgets and turnover expenditures to come up with cost reduction recommendations
Identify and execute best safety practices to reduce the potential of resident and associate injury
Continually research energy-saving and sustainability opportunities
Lead the implementation and operations of regional centralized teams

Site teams are so in the know about service priorities, they could easily recite the three guiding principles in their sleep: "on-time service request completion, zero post-move-in service requests, and industry satisfaction scores."
Maintenance issues and on-site injuries are at an all-time low with all the new, improved preventative practices you've introduced.
Building Blocks of Success:
3+ years of stellar experience in increasingly responsible management positions within facilities management
High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license
Ability to evaluate and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, and mechanical equipment and systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with numbers and figures
Knowledge and experience in the review and application of NFPA life and fire safety codes
Strong understanding of OSHA standards and SDS regulations
Ability to travel approximately 50-60%; availability to work all shifts, including weekends
Solid experience utilizing MS Office
