Overview:
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of maintenance technicians in the day-to-day operations of the Chick-fil-A Supply Distribution Center (DC) in Hutchins, TX. This role reports to and supports the Facilities Maintenance Manager in maintenance program implementation including trouble-shooting complex problems, assisting with managing third-party facilities management providers and leading the maintenance team.
The ideal candidate is a dedicated and flexible supervisor who supports two shifts within our team, provides technical expertise and carries a team-first attitude. The Maintenance Supervisor works in alignment with the Facilities Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Planner. This role will also work closely with site leadership, operations team members, truck drivers, equipment operators, etc., in addition to the Safety, Quality, and Compliance Lead.

Schedule: This role follows a base schedule of Monday to Friday from 10AM to 6:30PM.
You will need to be on-call during weekends and evenings as required by business and team needs. On-call support will be remote but based on business needs may require on-site support.
In average you can expect to work about 45 hours per week; however, this may vary according business needs.
As a leader overseeing multiple shifts, your presence on-site is essential to support Maintenance Technicians working on various schedules. The Maintenance Technicians' shifts start on Sunday at 6:00 AM and conclude on Saturday at 2:30 AM.

Responsibilities:
Leading Teams with Communication and Care:
Lead the technician team's maintenance activities of the building envelope, building equipment, space occupied by Chick-fil-A Supply, and common areas of the site including directing/monitoring work performed by in-house team and third-party contractors
Operate as a supervisor and leader to the maintenance team using constructive feedback and coaching during the completion of maintenance activities including complex assignments.
Develop and deliver formal individual performance reviews supporting the growth and development of each technician.
Promote clear and open communication to cultivate good relations between the maintenance team and other departments.
Support Maintenance Manager in monitoring team performance and developing process improvement initiatives.
Efficiency and Organization:
Assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the activities/performance of the third-party providers.
Support Maintenance Manager in the development of strategies and plans to be aligned with operational needs, minimize risks, and maximize efficiency of the assets and maintenance team.
Ensure maintenance operations are performed in a reliable and cost-effective manner in compliance with safety, quality, compliance requirements and industry standards, and Chick-fil-A SOPs; understand new/planned regulatory changes and its impact on operations and required staffing.
Track open work orders to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and accurate and complete information is entered into the system.
Support Maintenance Manager in monitoring performance and developing process improvement initiatives.
Participate in the opex and capital planning process and repair vs. replace decisions.
Support Maintenance Manager in the selection/governance of third-party providers.
Ensure housekeeping, productivity, and quality of work standards are maintained.
Support Chick-fil-A Supply Sustainment's initiatives to reduce energy consumption and waste generation.
Safety First:
Serve as an escalation point to help resolve maintenance or team related issues.
Support Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day supervision of maintenance systems, processes, and documentation associated with efficient and high performing maintenance organizations.
Assist with inspections of the building shell, building equipment, and operations to pro-actively identify issues and ensure compliance with required maintenance standards.
Perform regular walk throughs of the building to identify areas that need repairs or that show signs of problems.
Monitor shift schedule/workload to ensure reactive (corrective and emergency), preventive, and predictive maintenance is scheduled/completed in a timely manner and work closely with Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, and operations to coordinate/schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs.
Maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer specs and warranty agreement including preventive maintenance and use of spare parts.
Support compliance audits and quality assurance reviews; review performance reports and take corrective actions.
Support and conduct team training on required activities and desired outcomes; ensure the maintenance SOPs are complied with and are routinely reviewed and updated.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma; certified maintenance technician
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Leadership Experience:
3+ years of experience in a supervisory role
Maintenance supervisory experience
Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Ability to anticipate needs, multitask, manage shifting priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment
Maintenance Experience:
7+ years of experience in maintenance within food manufacturing and distribution operations or similar operations
3+ years of experience using CMMS
Multi skilled electrical and mechanical disciplines, including hydraulic maintenance and troubleshooting experience
Proficient in equipment maintenance, mechanical design, and assembly
Knowledge of industry-leading practices and suggestions/solutions for continuous improvement
Ability to work in both a distribution/production environment and a corporate environment
Schedule:
Availability for on-call support on weekends and evenings and shift flexibility, as needed.
Travel:
20% for Chick-fil-A Operator/market/DC visits, supplier visits, and related conferences

Education:
Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering or other relevant fields
Leadership Experience:
5+ years of experience in a supervisory role
Proven track record of leading/supervising high-performance team(s) in manufacturing or distribution environments
Maintenance Experience:
9+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance within food manufacturing, distribution, or similar environment
Knowledge of applicable SQC requirements
Engineering background and automation maintenance experience, including trouble-shooting experience
Prior Building Systems, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems, Rail Systems, Ammonia Refrigeration, and Robotics experience beneficial
Deep and robust knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO 55000 - Asset Management Standard), leading practices, and industry benchmarks
Experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation, including 5S Practices, Total Preventative Maintenance and Visual Factory
