Job description
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Modeler with our client in the Financial Services industry
This is a for a 6-month contract job opportunity
You can work remotely from anywhere in the USA
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze existing data models in MS SQL Server
- Design and develop new, improved data models for Snowflake platform
- Ensure data models meet business requirements and industry standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and use cases
- Create and maintain data dictionaries and model documentation
- Optimize data models for performance and scalability
- Support the migration of data models from MS SQL Server to Snowflake
- Implement data governance and quality control measures
- Develop and implement solutions for data quality and consistency issues
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data integrity throughout the pipeline
- Design and implement data validation rules and constraints in the models
- Propose and implement data standardization practices across the organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in data modeling, preferably in the financial sector
- Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server and Snowflake architectures
- Expertise in dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling tools
- Experience with ETL processes and data integration
- Experience in data profiling, cleansing, and quality management techniques
Key Skills:
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Problem-solving skills related to data quality and consistency
- Familiarity with data quality tools and methodologies
Desired Skills:
- Certifications in data modeling or Snowflake
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms
- Familiarity with mortgage industry data structures and regulations
Compensation: W2 hourly rate range of $65 to $80
Rates can vary depending on your experience, years, and type of experience.
