Responsibilities:
Job Summary
As a Manager of Software Engineering in 7-Eleven's global technology team you will be part of a fast paced and highly collaborative delivery environment. The global technology team in 7-Eleven is on the path of building a retail solution platform supporting 80000+ stores across 18+ countries/regions. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that is fast paced and highly collaborative allowing you to apply emerging technologies to building a retail technology product of global scale.
The Global Technology & Digital department at 7IN is responsible for:
1. Enabling, driving, and supporting 7-Eleven's Global Digital Transformation (DX)
2. Introducing 7-Eleven's digital and technology solutions to international licensees and candidates
3. Develop and operate 7-Eleven Global Technology (7GT)
4. Supporting international licensee to implement their digital and technology solutions (In-house development or through 7GT) to operate their 7-Eleven business
5. Digitally enable the 7IN organization
Main Responsibilities
• Help manage engineering teams, projects, performance, and career growth of engineers.
• Communicate roadmaps with the team, leaders, and stakeholders.
• Partner with various teams to determine scope and estimate development effort.
• Lead systems design, architecture, and scaling discussions.
• Influence adoption of industry standards.
• You will also ensure that the components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain.
• If required, you must be willing to take on other duties as assigned to make projects successful this includes but is not limited to learn new technology on the fly and deliver results.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
Education: B.A. Computer Science, Business, Technology or related experience
• Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with development and designing applications using Node.js, React or Angular.
• 2+ years of experience developing with large microservice-based architectures, container orchestration frameworks: Kubernetes/Amazon EKS.
• 3+ years of experience in relational or non-relational database management systems.
• 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers.
• Understanding of MVC / MVVM / MVP structure and development patterns.
• Familiarity with backlog management tools like JIRA.
• Experience in partnering with product and program management teams.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Experience building applications using Java and/or Python highly preferred.
• Familiarity with modern build pipelines and tools highly preferred.
• Familiarity with code versioning Git (Gitlab highly preferred).
Language Skills: English
Travel Requirements: 20-40%
