Job description

Duties Promote awareness of the nature of family violence. Serve as the primary subject matter expert on all matters involving domestic violence. Provide command information regarding emerging prevention and treatment issues and trends and results of prevention programs conducted. Provide crisis intervention, intake and referral for active duty military and family members. Oversee operation of a 24-hour crisis line. Identify program resource requirements and provide Family Advocacy Program budget input. Provide oversight for contractors and inter-service support agreement personnel working in the Family Advocacy Program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so. This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. This position requires working non-standard duty hours, such as overtime, weekends, or on-call status. This is a Temporary position intended to last 1 Year. A temporary position may be extended to a maximum of three years and may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment, depending upon the needs of management. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a Temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
