What You Will Do
IT Audio/Visual Technician - The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and supporting audio/visual components and systems, including but not limited to projectors, TVs, digital signage, low-voltage electrical, amplifiers, speakers, microphones and collaboration platforms (preferably Microsoft Teams). This role involves designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting A/V equipment to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across the organization's collection of conference, training, and meeting rooms.
A Typical Day at Prime Controls
Set up, configure, and maintain audio/visual (A/V) equipment for meetings, presentations, digital signage, and common areas (e.g., break room TVs).
Provide technical support for Microsoft Teams Rooms, including video conferencing, presenting, content sharing, content injection, and other collaboration features.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to A/V equipment and Microsoft collaboration tools.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure A/V systems meet organizational needs.
Train employees on the use of A/V equipment and Teams Rooms collaboration tools.
Maintain an asset management document of A/V equipment and ensure all devices are in good working condition through routine inspection.
Stay up to date on the latest A/V technologies and best practices.
What You Will Bring
The Basic
At least three years' experience as an audio/visual Technician or similar role.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting A/V equipment, including projectors, displays. microphones, amplifiers, speakers, and video conferencing systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially as it relates installs, equipment cabinets, and maintaining related documentation (asset lists, system diagrams).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working with vendors or contractors for larger-scale installations.
The Preferred
Previous experience documenting complex A/V installs using Visio, CAD or some other diagramming tool
Previous experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms and its collaboration features
Previous experience with RingCentral cloud phone system
Relevant certifications in A/V technology or IT support
