Job Summary The Floor Care Technician focuses on Infection Control and Prevention by providing proper cleaning and sanitation throughout the hospital and assigned site campuses Reports to: Supervisor, Environmental Services Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: Ensure hospital quality cleanliness and appearance of assigned areas Staff development through ongoing training (one-on-one), Perform area inspections to evaluate and monitor quality performance, efficiency, customer satisfaction and infection control standards. Maintain current area specific records for supply/equipment and inventory control. Perform and complete all other housekeeping and linen distribution duties assigned, including but not limited to cleaning occupied and non- occupied rooms All other assigned duties related to Environmental Services Education and Experience +2 years floor tech experience Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations N/A Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of flooring and how to clean all types of floors and carpeting Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Demonstrated basic knowledge, after training, of cleaning procedures, operating equipment necessary, and a clean and safe envriornment Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position requires close interaction with medical staff and ancillary areas in order to facilitate a quality multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and safety Physical Capabilities Requires wear or personal protective equipment (PPE); Ability to lift/move various types of equipment, supplies/chemicals, and furniture of light/medium weight. Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and stretching. Environmental/Working Conditions This position is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes that may include varying temperatures. Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning supplies and blood/ blood borne pathogens is high risk.
