A prominent AISC Certified structural steel fabricator in the Southwest is seeking a talented and motivated Steel Estimator to join their expanding team. As an estimator, you'll be responsible for estimating fabricated structural steel. This Estimating position comes with a very competitive salary and great benefits.

Steel Estimator PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Quantitative take-offs.
  • Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specifications
  • Determine labor and equipment costs
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
  • Understand project logistics and project schedule for Steel industry standards
  • Understand all bid documents and assess project risks
  • Review quotes and estimates with the project team
  • Prepare estimates and different levels of completion (conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.)
  • Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineers
  • Serve as company interface between owner & architect

Steel Estimator QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 2 years of structural and miscellaneous steel estimating experience
  • Detailing experience not required but a bonus.
  • Advanced computer skills with estimating software
  • Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
  • Understand aspects of structural steel and miscellaneous metal concepts.
