Position Summary:

Samsung SDS plays a leading role in the global logistics market with unique logistics services. Samsung SDS America is looking for an expert with 3PL Logistics Sales experience in International Freight Forwarding, Warehouse Operations, and Transportation. This role requires significant client interaction to sell our Freight Forwarding services including Warehouse Operations and Transportation Service while building customer relationships.

The main responsibility for this role will be to plan and carry out direct sales activities to attain new customers. This position engage with clients to sell our solutions and services, driving business development activities including developing and managing project partner programs for resellers, and assist with implementing programs for other business partners.

As the 3PL Logistics Sales Director, you will be developing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth within the logistics industry. You will establish and maintain relationships with key clients, identify new business opportunities, and oversee the sales process from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy Development:

Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth in the logistics sector.

Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings to inform sales strategies and tactics.

2. Team Leadership and Management:

Manage the sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to maximize performance and productivity.

Set clear sales targets and objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.

Provide training and development opportunities for the sales team to enhance their skills and performance.

3. Client Relationship Management:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their business needs and requirements.

Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and escalations, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

4. New Business Development:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the logistics industry, including potential clients and market segments.

Develop and nurture leads through networking, cold calling, and other prospecting activities.

5. Sales Process Oversight:

Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

6. Proposal and Contract Management:

Prepare and present proposals, pricing quotes, and contracts to prospective clients, negotiating terms and conditions to secure new business.

Ensure all contracts are accurately documented, executed, and maintained in accordance with company standards.

Collaborate closely with the product/pricing/legal team and overseas partners to ensure the accuracy of quotes and proposals.

7. Sales Performance Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze sales performance metrics, including revenue, pipeline, and conversion rates, to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.

Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for senior management, sales performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.

8. Sales Team Goal and KPI Management:

Establish sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team, aligning with overall company objectives and targets.

Monitor individual and team performance against sales goals and KPIs, providing coaching and support to help team members achieve targets.

9. Market Research and Competitive Analysis:

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay informed of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.

Use insights to adjust sales strategies and positioning to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

10. Customer Satisfaction and Retention:

Monitor customer satisfaction levels and proactively address any issues or concerns to ensure high levels of customer retention.

Work closely with the customer service team to deliver exceptional service and exceed customer expectations.

11. Industry Networking and Representation:

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build brand awareness and expand the company's presence in the logistics sector.

Cultivate relationships with industry stakeholders, including partners, associations, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in the logistics industry.

Minimum of 4 years of previous experience in a leadership or managerial role, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team.

Minimum of 4 years of experience of working with the top global 3PL Logistics companies.

Strong understanding of logistics operations, supply chain management, and transportation industry trends.

Possess a thorough understanding of the domestic and international transportation industry (trucking, air and ocean modes)

Proven track record in sales, prospecting, and developing accounts.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Familiar with digital freight forwarder platforms and processes.

Proficiency in sales management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies to achieve business objectives.

Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and exceeding sales targets

Ability to build trustworthy relationships with customers at all levels (C Level, Managers, Staff)

Ability to travel up to 30% as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and represent the company.

Your base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within the position. The base pay range for this role is between $150,000 $200,000/year, and your base pay will depend on your skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location.

This Sales position is under Sales bonus policy. Sales bonus of up to 40% annually based on operating profit and sales revenue achievement rate based on KPI/ Revenue Target.
