Controller - Plano, Texas





A forward-thinking international manufacturer company specializing in the resource extraction industry is seeking an exceptional accounting professional to join their growing organization as a Controller. The company offers an exciting opportunity to build and lead their accounting department. This position will collaborate closely with the CEO and CFO to manage all accounting operations, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning for the company.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership abilities, in-depth accounting knowledge, and experience managing teams.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all financial accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and assess the impact of new accounting standards and guidance.
  • Manage public company filings.
  • Lead the annual audit and quarterly review process with external public accountants.
  • Select, design, and implement new accounting and financial reporting software systems.
  • Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and performance analyses.
  • Monitor tax compliance and coordinate state, federal, and international tax returns with external tax advisors.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
  • Support special projects, including acquisitions and new developments, from a financial perspective.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to prepare ad hoc presentations and analyses for the Board of Directors.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within industrial services or a related field.
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with multinational operations is preferred.
