Job Title: Scientist / Senior Technician

Location: Plano, TX

Timings: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM (Mon - Fri)

Job Description: We are seeking a Scientist to join our Measurement Sciences team at the Plano Global R&D facility. The primary focus of this position is to perform biopolymer compound analysis, including testing for dietary fiber, beta-glucan, protein, and oil for client R&D and operations groups. The role involves accurately determining dietary fiber and beta-glucan content using established processes, standardized methods, and routine equipment operations. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting instruments, recording and reporting data, and ensuring laboratory safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate with test requestors and managers to prioritize tasks effectively.

Prepare and maintain chemicals, solutions, and equipment for analysis.

Process samples (e.g., milling) for testing purposes.

Follow standard operating procedures to determine dietary fiber, beta-glucan, protein, ash, fat, and moisture content.

Document testing data in appropriate online systems and communicate results accurately and in a timely manner.

Organize and purge samples on a regular basis.

Follow Good Lab Practices (GLP) to ensure laboratory safety, instrument performance, and data quality.

Assist managers in maintaining the lab, including conducting lab safety audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Material Science, or a related discipline with 2+ years of laboratory experience.

Master s degree preferred.

Experience operating HPLC or IC is preferred.

Basic understanding of food nutrients such as dietary fiber, beta-glucan, protein, and oil.

Strong task prioritization and time management skills to meet deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word).

Ability and willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to data recording platforms (e.g., LabVantage).

Experience with Good Lab Practices (GLP) and hazardous chemical handling to maintain lab safety.

Strong organizational skills, with an ability to keep neat and accurate records.
