Job description

Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Support Services, the Building Services Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Building Services Department (including general housekeeping, linen services, and floor maintenance). Functions as a resource and assists or provides necessary education and training of staff members. Responsible for the daily supervision of designated staff assigned to the Building Services Department and provides services as assigned. Maintains compliance with OSHA, JC, and all haz mat reporting. The operation of this department is inclusive of primarily administrative competencies with some technical competence required. Utilizing effective planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling mechanisms, the Building Services Manager ensures that efficient and effective services are provided according to regulatory requirements and in a manner that meets the Mission, Vision, and Values of OakBend Medical Center.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:

High school education or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered. Associates or Bachelor's degree in business or management is preferred.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum two years' experience in environmental services for hospitals or hotels is required. One year of management or supervisory experience required; supervisory experience in environmental services is preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification preferred. Ongoing education as necessary. Valid Drivers' license and reliable transportation as driving between campuses is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of cleaning and principles of infection control and hazardous communications is required. Bilingual preferred.
