Accounting Analyst
Location: San Antonio, Texas 78212Salary: $55,000 - $70,000
As a member of the finance team, you will play a crucial role in preparing journal entries, reconciling multiple accounts, and investigating discrepancies. You will support vault clerks in their daily tasks and serve as a backup when needed. You will collaborate with management to maintain accurate financial records for clients and assist in the preparation of workpapers and roll-forward schedules for annual audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Analyst:
- Journal Entries and Reconciliation: Prepare journal entries and reconcile multiple accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
- Month-End and Year-End Processes: Assist in conducting month-end and year-end close processes while meeting reporting deadlines.
- Discrepancy Investigation: Investigate and reconcile discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Sales Tax Reporting: Examine sales tax policies and prepare relevant reports.
- Revenue Reconciliation: Reconcile and report monthly revenue with third-party revenue partners.
- Pledge Contributions Reporting: Collaborate with the Development department to reconcile and report on pledges and contributions.
- Financial Statement Support: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and contribute to operating budget development.
- Audit Assistance: Support internal and external audit requests and ensure adherence to accounting policies.
- Cash Handling: Issue banks and change funds to clerks and authorized cash handlers, reconciling cash received to control numbers.
- Bank Deposits and Cashroom Counts: Prepare bank deposits and perform cashroom counts to ensure cash on hand is accurate.
- Cash Management: Place change order requests and monitor ATM cash balances, refilling as necessary.
Qualifications of the Accounting Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred (entry-level candidates are welcome).
- Proficiency in Sage 100 and Microsoft Excel (experience with pivot tables and macros is a plus).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
