Acquisition Specialist I About the Position The Acquisition Specialist I ensure all assets associated to medical war readiness Materiel (WRM) allowance standards are ordered or on order, so that established levels for specific WRM assets on approved allowance standards for WRM assemblages are maintained. They monitor, calculate, and govern all financial allocations and documents to ensure all assigned WRM assemblages are at the maximum on hand inventory, in accordance with regulatory requirements. Execute WRM acquisition plans of funding allocation, that ensure all assigned WRM assemblages can be stored as required. Duties/ Responsibilities: Provides technical expertise, recommendations, and written solutions to the Business Development Team to include but not limited to the following: General purchasing tasks, customer support, requisition, receiving, inventory management, and QA. This includes but is not limited to cargo preparation ordering, deployment ordering, including medical controlled items stored in a secure location, operation of various materials handling equipment as required, and utilizing and updating DoD MMIS records. Requires a basic understanding of inventory management, and medical logistics support instructions, policies, and regulations. This Acquisition Specialist works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from a higher-level Acquisition Specialist, lead, or supervisor. Performs all other position-related duties as assigned, requested, or as identified as conditions of employment. This position summary is not intended to be exhaustive. Required Skills/Abilities: Minimum/General Experience: Two years of purchasing experience (preferably in Medical Logistics), or four years of transferable skills; be familiar with, and able to navigate/utilize, MMIS. Must obtain annual influenza inoculations; proof of vaccination is required. Education and Experience : High School Diploma or equivalent May have to obtain and retain a Secret Security Clearance.
