Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work with systems, applications, and solutions for AOTO's enterprise-wide network and converged AV systems. This is a hands-on role that requires deep technical knowledge of systems, networks, and applications along with a solid understanding of enterprise-level frameworks, policies, processes, and standards. The position requires strong critical thinking and analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to complex problems
Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks
Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks
Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN)
Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
Monitor network performance, bandwidth and integrity
Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting the network infrastructure
Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
Communicate with users when needed
Maintain complete technical documentation
Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
Performs complex troubleshooting, backup, archiving, and disaster recovery
Assists in the design, implementation and maintenance of systems, programs, hardware and software.
Perform network administration duties.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
Develop standards for design and deployment of Microsoft Teams Room systems for various room sizes and use cases to include physical designs, configuration guides and sample bills of material
Design, implement and manage availability of critical network infrastructure equipment
Isolate faults and resolve issues to prevent impact on user productivity.
Work with systems engineers/administrators to facilitate remediation of tickets/alerts.
Assist in the coordination and completion of operations documentation (e.g. Work Instructions, SOPs)
Review deployment of existing systems and remediate to ensure alignment with standards where necessary
Deploy, Monitor and Manage network equipment such as network switches, IPAM appliances, Wireless Access point, WLCs, ISE appliances, and Microsoft Teams Rooms devices
Ensure that deployments conform to approved design standards following documented SOPs and Work Instructions
Conduct quality control analysis that include audio, video and signal testing of converged AV systems
Perform schedule checks of specific conference spaces and equipment; identify equipment showing significant wear and tear or other early indications of failure and proactively report issues
Monitor and maintain contracts for network infrastructure devices, conference room systems and components
Provide escalation support for operational issues; opens service tickets with service and support contractors / repair providers and network service providers as needed. Tracks repairs until completion.
Compiles and submits regular reports on operations and other work performed.
Proactively validate and remediate security vulnerabilities for managed network equipment; Create risk mitigation strategies when vulnerabilities cannot be remedied and work with IT security to review and act on any directed changes
Root cause analysis of problems causing service/system outage and development of correction action plan to mitigate reoccurrence of incidents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED SKILLS:
At least 7 years total IT experience, with 3-5 years of experience as a network engineer in an enterprise environment
Strong experience with Cisco network switches including Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches.
Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, network cabling, and other network related hardware
Working knowledge of network technologies and protocols including Trunking, VTP, Layer 2 & 3 Port-channels, Spanning-Tree, Port-Security, HSRP, EIGRP, OSPF, QoS, BGP, and MPLS, BFD.
Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, network security concepts, and technologies including IPSec, RADIUS, TACACS+, firewall policies, and 802.1x
Hands-on experience with analysis of network traffic captures
Experience with Palo-Alto Firewall, and InfoBlox NIOS
Experience with tuning switch configuration for data and audio/video traffic.
Knowledge of the operating characteristics of various operating systems, e.g. Windows 10 Enterprise, MacOS and iOS.
Knowledge of OSI model, Concepts of VLANs and Multicast, Routing and Switching, Audio & Video encoding and decoding protocols, Dante protocols, Q-LAN protocol for Audio streams, IGMP snooping, QoS, DNS/DHCP
Knowledge of Storage and Virtual Server Infrastructure and Internet Proxy systems
Knowledge of general management and auditing techniques for identifying problems, gathering, and analyzing pertinent information, forming conclusions, developing solutions, and implementing plans consistent with management goals.
Excellent oral and written communications skills. Interaction and information gathering with coworkers and customers.
Working Knowledge of Logging and Monitoring tools such as Splunk, Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Wireshark, and Netscout
Knowledge of Software Defined Networks and Cisco DNA
Working experience with trouble ticketing systems such as Remedy and ServiceNow.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
BA/BS or equivalent, 7+ years of experience
Industry leading certifications relating to IT Networks with enough skills/experience to complement, preferably Cisco CCNP
The likely salary range for this position is $89,250 - $120,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
