Location: Downtown San Antonio
Part time: 15-25 hours a week

Our client is a leader in their industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality services and projects. We are currently seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist with construction industry experience to join the team.

Part-Time Payroll Specialist Overview :
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing full payroll and ensuring accuracy and compliance with union regulations. This role will also support HR functions, working closely with HR for approximately 15-25 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities of the Part-Time Payroll Specialist:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage complete payroll functions using ADP, ensuring timely and accurate payroll for all employees.
  • Timesheet Management: Oversee and automate timesheet processes, transitioning from current systems to more efficient methods.
  • Daily Oversight: Review daily clock-in and clock-out entries for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Job Costing and Coding: Ensure precise job costing and coding for construction projects, particularly within the service department.
  • Union Payroll Management: Handle union deductions and ensure compliance with union regulations, including understanding double-time pay.
  • Tax Filing Coordination: Collaborate with ADP for tax filings; ensure accuracy and compliance in payroll entries.
  • 401(k) Management: Assist with future 401(k) plan administration, including the transition to 360 management.
  • Monthly Reconciliation: Prepare and reconcile payroll reports on a monthly basis, ensuring all entries are correct in the payroll system.
  • Mileage Tracking: Oversee mileage expenses within the job cost system and analyze truck usage reports.

Qualifications of the Part-Time Payroll Specialist:
  • Proven experience in payroll processing, particularly in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with ADP; experience with Deltek is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of union regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Highschool diploma
