Job description

Description This is a contingent opportunity Personnel Security Specialists will be supporting the Air Education and Training Command with processing and tracking security clearances for newly enlisted Airmen. This is a critical role in enhancing personnel security and accountability within the Department of the Air Force. Duties Manage Personnel Security actions for military personnel throughout the training pipeline until their arrival at the first duty station or a training site requiring access to classified information.
Ensure each accession is assigned to the Security Management Office (SMO) in the Defense Information Security System (DISS). Monitor the Air Force Recruiting Information Support System-Total Force (AFRISS-TF) for accession activities.
Process Continuous Vetting (CV) notifications, coordinate with training units, notify subjects, and obtain required documentation within a 48-hour window.
Handle security incidents reported by training units, ensure proper documentation, and upload information into DISS.
Prepare weekly separation rosters, check investigation statuses, request cancellations with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and submit rosters to AETC/IP and AFRS.
Track accession progress through training via 2 AF SharePoint dashboards, out-process or transfer accessions to the SMO at the permanent duty station in DISS.
Provide weekly statistics on CV notifications, requests for information, Customer Service Requests (CSRs), and DISS processing actions. Generate ad-hoc statistical reports and a lesson learned report at the end of the initial performance period.
Required Experience 3-5 years of relevant Security Specialist experience
