Job description

What you will do

The Senior Electrical Engineer leads custom electrical design work for chiller solutions products. This position will be responsible for lead designer as well as coach for junior engineers and has responsibilities for creating product technical solutions and delivering design details on schedule to manufacturing teams. This position is onsite and based at our San Antonio, TX, plant for our large tonnage Chiller products and solutions. Interested candidates must be commuting distance, or open for relocation.

How you will do it

  • Investigates and analyzes product design proposals on electrical power panels, control panels, variable speed drives and wire harnesses in accordance with UL, NEC, CSA, and CE codes, then recommends solutions.

  • Proficient in electrical design and able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.

  • Proficient at preparing, checking, and coordinating the release of documentation to support designs.

  • Responsible for technical direction to application engineers, designers, factory operations, product marketing, and product technical service.

  • Responsible for the on-time completion of projects.

  • Continuously increases expertise on all aspects of chiller electrical design, theory, construction, operation, and applications.

  • Proficient at selecting the most suitable electrical components.

  • Uses standard and advanced technical and mathematical principles, theories, concepts, techniques, processes, and best practices in field.

  • Advances expertise and applies regulatory codes such as UL, NEC, CSA, and CE codes.

  • Strives for continuous improvement and teamwork in a global product development and process environment.

  • Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.

  • Serves as primary SME for Electrical / Power Electronics issues at the facility.

  • Leads, teaches and coaches others in interpreting and understanding engineering drawings including electrical schematics.

What you will need
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum 8 years applicable experience with UL, NEC, CSA, and CE codes

  • Skilled in analyzing electrical loads, designing power and control circuitry, reviewing control logic, and practicing mathematical theories and concepts

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical components including motors, inverter drives, soft starters, contactors, and circuit breakers

  • Strong electrical aptitude
