Job description

Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing A Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining audiovisual and video teleconferencing systems. They work with various audiovisual equipment, such as cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, and control systems, to ensure smooth and reliable communication during video conferences and presentations. They troubleshoot technical issues, perform equipment upgrades, and provide support to end-users. Additionally, they may assist in the setup and operation of video conferencing events or meetings. The Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication and collaboration through audiovisual technology. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing: $75,000 to $80,000 annually Pay commensurate with experience. Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing Responsibilities Include: Sets-up, facilitates, tests, and operates all AV/VTC equipment in conference centers and conference rooms. Provides operational and maintenance support of A/V VTC systems in conference rooms, training rooms, auditoriums, senior leadership A/V VTC equipment, video walls, signage systems, and provides operating instructions to AV customers. Provides Tier 1 & 2 troubleshooting of A/V display sharing and Customer control interface panels. Provides preventive maintenance, functionality, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of AV/VTC assets. Ensures that appropriate telecommunication documentation exists, including operational instructions and, that Standard Operating Procedures are updated as needed. Provides hands-on assistance involving troubleshooting and diagnostic support for all related systems, equipment failures or service issues. Assists in all service / system upgrades while being a team player involving telecommunications and networking projects. Researches available and emerging Audio-Visual technologies to recommend future implementations. Uses knowledge of current systems to promote beneficial capabilities and leverage use of the system's features. Creates, updates, and resolves trouble tickets as assigned and, enter service request tickets daily. Performs other job related duties as assigned Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: Requires a minimum of a 4-8 years of experience in operating and maintaining A/V VTC equipment. Strong switch/router/control panel configuration; experience working in a fast-paced high visibility environment. Minimum 3 years' experience in VTC trouble tickets, setup, and administration Performs technical analysis, and preliminary and detail system design to prepare audio visual concept plans and proposals for satisfying user requirements. Projects are large and complicated and involve upgrade, modification, and/or rehabilitation of supporting plant and the installation of new audio visual/VTC requirements and accommodating special needs of the facility. Performs on-site telecommunications design in supporting agency IT standard, policies and authorized system design approaches. Provides expert knowledge on open system infrastructure and post architecture for campus area network before and during installation process that meet design and engineering specifications for effective information systems network. Extensive technical knowledge of the applications, operational, performance, and technical characteristics of audio visual/VTC equipment to include: iPads, Playbooks, smart phones, and other mobile devices. Knowledge of established criteria, practices, methods, and techniques for design and analysis of telephone switching systems and facilities; and skill to make significant adaptations to analytical methods and techniques to resolve unusually difficult or controversial problems.
