Job description

Our client, a prominent energy infrastructure company, is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Drafter to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing complete drawing packages, working closely with project managers and the design team, and ensuring drawings adhere to company standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pipeline design, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to work independently.

Job Title: Mechanical Drafter
Location: Sheridan, TX
Pay Range: $50-$60/hour

What's the Job?

• Work with the operations, project managers, and design team to create complete drawing packages, including P&IDs, plot plans, and diagrams, adhering to company standards.
• Develop IFA (Issued for Approval), IFB (Issued for Bid), and IFC (Issued for Construction) drawing packages.
• Provide field sketches for piping design and select appropriate materials for pipes and components based on design requirements.
• Ensure compliance with piping design standards and specifications, including adequate spacing for equipment and piping layout.
• Develop a thorough understanding of midstream pipeline facilities and the function of measurement equipment and process piping.

What's Needed?

• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience with a degree, or 7 to 10 years of experience without a degree.
• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in midstream design.
• Proficiency in 3D and 2D pipeline design software such as CADWorx, AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Strong knowledge of P&ID symbols and terminology, as well as experience with Windows operating systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
