Family Solutions is currently looking to hire a skilled LPC or LCSW for our Correctional Care Division. This position is full time and will entail providing behavioral health assessment and treatment services to Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees held at West Texas Detention Center in Sierra Blanca, TX. Services are preferred to be provided directly to detainees via a combination of on-site and telehealth visits, but candidates who are searching for a fully remote position will be considered. Laptop, secure telehealth software, and secure access to electronic health record will be provided for remote employees. Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Family Solutions Mental Health Services Administrator, the LPC/LCSW, as a part of the primary care team, is responsible for providing standardized assessments and mental health counseling for LaSalle Corrections detainees, as they are referred by LaSalle Corrections primary health treatment staff. The LPC/LCSW will work to assess and treat the behavioral health needs of patients referred to him/her and will utilize correctional site resources for needed specialty care, hospitalization, or advance psychiatric assessments and treatments. The LPC/LCSW will also actively collaborate with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Mental Health Nurse, and LaSalle Correctional staff to provide quality care to detainees referred to him/her. On-call services will be required as a part of this position.

Certification and Licensure:
Must be fully licensed as either a Licensed Professional Counselor or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas.
Maintains current licensure in the state of the facility to which he/she is assigned (Texas).
Must maintain all certifications required through state and national agencies.

Education and Experience:
Masters Degree in Accredited Clinical Mental Health, Professional Counseling, Clinical Social Work Program, or equivalent is required
2 years of experience in providing behavioral health treatment in outpatient and/or inpatient settings is preferred. Experience in providing behavioral health treatment in correctional settings is highly preferred.

Security/Background Checks:
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, must have an unrestricted license to practice as an LPC or LCSW in the state of TX, must be able to pass a National Provider Database check, and must be able to pass an EQIP background check to be eligible for this position.

Job Description, Essential Functions, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
LPC/LCSW develops and implements patient treatment consistent with the objectives of contract deliverables and consistent with all policies and standards that are pertinent to the delivery of behavioral health care to Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees. This is accomplished by performing comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, establishing realistic and measurable short and long term goals, and initiating appropriate clinical treatment based upon evaluation findings. Training on all pertinent policies and standards that govern the provision of behavioral health care to Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees is provided as part of this position.
The LPC/LCSW implements appropriate treatment techniques to maximize patient function, promote healing and adjustment of disability.
Formulates differential diagnosis of mild to moderate mental health conditions and/or substance abuse.
Consults with Correctional Care Coordinator, psychiatric treatment provider, and other providers regarding complex patients and regarding prescription medications prescribed by providers.
Actively collaborates with psychiatric prescribers in all cases to maximize treatment efficacy.
Adapts conventional therapy techniques to meet the needs of patients in a correctional setting. Adaptations are based on the patients' physical and cognitive capabilities, strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
Provide non-scheduled urgent assessment of patients as identified by correctional/treatment staff.
Identify patients with urgent mental health conditions (e.g. suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, etc.) and make appropriate referrals to available emergency or psychiatric treatment resources.
Maintain an understanding of how behavioral health priorities are administered under state and federal guidelines for correctional populations.
Provides patient care in a safe and therapeutic environment by maintaining the privacy of the patients.
Provides education to patients from admission to discharge by providing individualized instructions to maximize function.
On date of session, documents patients' progress, interim assessments, and discharge summaries with updated goals. Updates, modifies, and prioritizes goals based on evaluations and re-evaluation of findings. Documents services provided through daily SOAP notes and through flow chart in documentation system. Initial evaluations to be completed within 48 hours of assessment and re-evaluations to be completed within 24 hours of assessment, unless otherwise agreed upon with Correctional Care Coordinator.
Independently plans and arranges for patient transfers through communication with the interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrates competency and knowledge of current standards of practice within the profession.
Recognizes limitations and makes appropriate referrals to other resources (inpatient care, hospitalization, etc) as needed.
Participates in staff orientation/training.
Prepare monthly productivity reports.
Be available for rotating weekend on-call schedule.
Prepares reports for quality improvement.
Maintain quality care through participation in peer review, policy development and quality improvement programs.
Maintains professional liability insurance coverage in an amount sufficient to qualify for coverage according to state malpractice guidelines
Engages in continuous quality improvement activities to evaluate compliance to contract deliverables, treatment standards, Family Solutions policies and procedures, and identifies strategies to improve patient care.
Maintains patient confidentiality by keeping information private as described by HIPAA/HiTECH/CFR 42 Part 2 standards.
Maintains a working knowledge of all Family Solutions services and capabilities offered to the community.
Maintain appropriate documentation of clinical and counseling services, including all necessary billing information. Ensure accurate and consistent use of encounter forms for all client contracts with behavioral health providers to ensure accurate billing of third party resources. Completes and submits timesheets weekly.
Maintain and update professional knowledge and proficiency through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops and serving on special committees.
Must be willing to travel and/or provide telehealth coverage between Family Solutions clinical sites in the region(s) in which he/she is licensed.
Other duties as assigned.
