Description:

Mission Critical Facilities International, a Mission Critical Group Company, is hiring a Sr. Electrical Engineer. The Sr. Electrical Engineer plays a crucial role at MCFI by providing technical leadership and developing customer-ordered solutions. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and startup of technical solutions, both for those created by the engineers themselves or others. A key aspect of this role is fostering collaboration with customers and other associates to identify and deliver optimal solutions. The Sr. Electrical Engineer works closely with project managers by frequently updating leaders and customers regarding job status.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in the development or proposals and estimates
  • Take accountability for the design and architecture of solutions, including developing, reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving plans and work schedules to meet contracted scope of work and to ensure application of Electrical Engineering Principles (network analysis, selective coordination, grounding, harmonics, etc.)
  • Effectively work within a team environment, providing valuable feedback and input to both associates and customers on technical solutions
  • Provide observation and / or inspection and field support of startup and commissioning of electrical systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes when designing and installing electrical systems
  • Maintain and improve existing engineering processes; keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and techniques that could improve MCFI processes and / or equipment
  • Provide technical and engineering support to other departments, teams, and / or MCG companies
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the project team and offer positive feedback based on active listening
  • Participate in conferences, events, networking, and learning opportunities to expand networks and establish relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, other professionals
  • Take complete ownership of applications ranging from $100K-$10.0M or less, including project margin management and utilization of other associates
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree (EE, ME or equivalent practical experience) or equivalent educational background
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in the industry
  • PE Licensure preferred; willingness to obtain license with company sponsorship
  • Strong understanding of the Company's Technical Management Systems, Engineering standards, and Project Management standards
  • Capable of tracking project forecasted technical, cost, and schedule baselines versus actual performance
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, safety protocols, and relevant requirements.
  • Extensive experience with Mission Control equipment and specifications, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDU, RRP, etc.; preferred
  • Proven performance in stressful environments
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to new technologies, requiring extensive research and reading for technical solutions
  • Capable of describing technical requirements effectively to other team members
  • When necessary, willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and travel as required to fulfill customer commitments
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, such as climbing and carrying up to seventy-five (75) pounds, especially in industrial facilities with harsh environments
