Overview:
The Director Total Rewards is a global leadership position responsible for all global Compensation and Benefits activities and functions. The role directly reports to Sr. Director or VP of Human Resources and routinely interacts with internal Executive Management, Professional Staff, and Corporate Function Leads, and external Vendors.

Responsibilities:
HR executive leadership position for a specialized HR function or holistic functional HR business support for a geographic area or functional group, including developing human resource management strategies and policies to meet business needs; planning, administering and reviewing activities

Manage the performance of and development of direct reports with maintained succession plan for role

Partner with the regional HR leaders and the Global Total Rewards team in the creation of compensation and benefits programs and tools

Oversight of internal and external market research to ensure program relevance, competitiveness and affordability

Participate in compensation and benefit surveys, conduct and / or purchase compensation and benefits surveys and interpret results to identify the Company's competitive position in local markets

Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, ensuring plans and programs remain in compliance

Oversee the policy renewal processes through vendor management for local and regional benefits programs

Prepare and update local administrative guidelines and policies that align with corporate programs

Participate in global total rewards projects, including but not limited to building and driving strategic design and execution of the company's Total Reward philosophy

Maintain vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations

Oversight of the creation and delivery of global and regional communications

Educate leaders, managers, and employees on the company's Total Rewards philosophy

Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and functional performance

Research, analyze, and evaluate benefit plan data issues, including internal HRIS, internal payroll, carrier, and 3rd party systems

Health and Welfare Benefits.Explain health and benefits plan features or options to employees as required, including plan provisions and related policies

Respond to benefits inquiries as well as providing help for employees in resolving benefits issues

Participate in annual health fairs and screenings, benefit workshops, and presentations

Ensure compliance through audits of benefits plans, including enrollments, terminations, and changes

Perform monthly billing process for benefit plans to be reported to accounts payable and finance.

Review bills for accuracy and compile reports

Maintain employee files and records

CompensationAssure the delivery of training to leaders regarding pay administration, merit budget pools and conduct effective compensation discussions that align with the Total Rewards strategy

Lead job evaluation projects ensuring that all job evaluations are completed fairly and transparently

Manage the strategic development, design, implementation, communication, maintenance, and compliance of all compensation programs to align with the company's Total Rewards philosophy and business objectives

Identify, develop, and deliver strategic compensation programs that meet and anticipate the internal needs of the organization while monitoring external trends in the marketplace.

Manage and communicate all compensation programs, including the development or maintenance of base salary ranges and other compensation practices for the company's various business units

Analyze job, salaries, and incentives to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance with pay practices.

Direct the job evaluation process and maintenance of consistent and accurate job descriptions across the organization

Manage executive compensation administration, including executive benchmarking, salary increases, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, key metric tracking, stockholder ownership guidelines, executive severance, and other executive policies

Participate in benchmarking forums, maintain executive compensation policies and procedures, and prepare compensation-related communications

Retirement BenefitsCoordinate reconciliation and contribution funding with payroll and retirement record-keeper to ensure timely funding and accurate allocation to participant's accounts.

Works in collaboration with Accounting and Finance departments to deliver timely reporting for journal entries

Initiate and monitor file feeds to and from respective retirement vendors to ensure correct data is being used to effectively administer retirement plans.

Comply with internal and external audit requests and provide requested data.

Comply with internal and external legal requests in a timely manner.

Collaborate with retirement record-keeper to complete annual non-discrimination testing and completion of 5500

Submit invoices from retirement related vendors and ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner.

Daily administration of Pension and 401k plans; field participant inquiries regarding the plans.

Produce reports from Human Resources and Payroll platforms as needed

Qualifications:
Typically, 15-20 years of relevant Total Rewards or Compensation and Benefits experience

5+ years in a manager role

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent degree and/or years of experience

Strong knowledge of Compensation and Benefits Laws for area of remit

SHRM or other HR professional certification preferred

Experience with labor relations and union environments

Experience and knowledge of the Engineering & Construction industry

Proficient Computer Skills - HRIS Databases and MS Office
