Welder Level 2

Experienced welder that can operate and setup any wire welding machine to weld parts of varying complexities.

A welder level 2 prepares, fits, and welds metal parts that conform with product and customer specification by applying appropriate welding techniques and fixturing tools or methods.

Responsibilities

Performs daily functions as directed by jobs, supervisors and/or leads in a timely manner to maintain production output standards set by the company.
Responsible for fitting and welding parts in the formation of sub-assemblies or final assemblies with the assistance of hand tools and/or fixtures in accordance with blueprints and welding standards.
Reads blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate and realize product dimensions and tolerances.
Works with various thicknesses and shapes of carbon steel materials such as sheet, plates up to and beyond , tubing, structural materials, and bar stock.
Keeps track of and maintains upkeep of companys tools, equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
Responsible for performing strong penetrated welds without discontinuities and identifying or correcting discontinuities when they are present.
Inspects, cleans, cuts, burns, and prepares components for welding.

Responsible for measuring work pieces to determine accuracy utilizing measuring instruments such as tape measures, squares, visual inspection, and other devices prior to moving to the next operation.
Handles materials safely while using proper rigging techniques and equipment such as forklifts, JIB cranes, and overhead cranes.
Operates power tools and hand tools as required for the fabrication process.
Becomes familiar with and interpret blueprints used for the job.
Trains and rotates on welding projects across multiple production lines.
Responsible for reporting all labor performed and quantities produced through companys Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Identifies problems, presents solutions, meets deadlines, and maintains a high level of accuracy.
Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment according to company policies and procedures.
Adheres to all safety standards in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
Follows companys attendance policy regular, overtime, and weekend shifts.
Must be able to work scheduled shifts as well as overtime & weekends as required.
Requirements

3-5+ years of MIG welding and fabrication experience, preferred experience in welding heavy structural steel.
Experience using Flux Core and Hardwire welding in all orientations.
Must be able to setup and operate any wire feed welding machine.
Can read and understand blueprints, drawings, and engineering information, including weld symbols.
Positive, team-oriented attitude, self-driven, detail-oriented who is hungry to learn and further develop their skills.
Must pass a company entry level welding test.
Must pass a company forklift training course.
Must be able to read a tape measure utilize various types of squares.
Must have your own welding equipment such as hood, steel toed boots, and MIG welder pliers on the first day.
Required to provide own tools within first 90 days in accordance to positions equipment list (List to be provided during interview).
JOB DESCRIPTION

Physical Demands

This position requires accessing all areas in the plant necessary to develop the activity.
Regularly required to stand or sit and move around the facility.
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Ability to work in a plant environment with fluctuating temperatures.
Special vision requirements are needed to be able to see work pieces and welds unassisted or with the use of glasses/contacts.
Education and Certification

High School diploma or GED.
Compensation

$ 19.00 - $22.00 per hour: depending on experience and skills.
