Lead API Pump Mechanic Needed

Lead API Pump Mechanic Requirements:


  • Experienced pump repair mechanic with 10 years experience working on API pumps in a shop environment.

    • Additional pump knowledge outside API a plus

  • Can diagnose and document "as found" & "as built" conditions.
  • Must be able to develop a repair workscope on all assigned jobs.
  • High School or Trade School.


Lead API Pump Mechanic Job Duties:


  • Able to recognize pump repair issues and use expertise and knowledge to reach effective solutions.
  • Document repair jobs using inspection tools, gauges, micrometers, indicators, etc.
  • Works well with minimal to little supervision. No instructions required for routine work.
  • Build positive working relationships with co-workers to achieve productivity.
  • Be part of the team by maintaining high personal standards of job performance.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintains safe and clean work area on a daily basis.
  • Keeps informed of and follows pump shop safety policies and procedures.


Lead API Pump Mechanic Essential Skills:


  • Use and read precision measuring tools ( Micrometers, Veneer calipers and Dial indicators).
  • Shaft alignment using Laser alignment systems
  • DCI on Vertical Turbine, Overhung and Single Stage between bearing pumps(BB1-BB2)
  • Clear and detailed on inspection reports and findings
  • Impeller balancing experience
  • Bend tubing for seal flush plans
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Requires solid math skills.
  • Ability to work in a Pump Shop environment.
  • Requires lifting parts, tools, and fixtures weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires ability to read and comprehend engineering and shop drawings and blueprints.


Schedule: 6:30 - 3:30 M-F

Saturday and overtime work as needed.
