TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR DOD SKILLBRIDGE JOB OPPORTUNITES YOU MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE U.S. MILITARY WITH 180 DAYS OF SERVICE OR FEWER REMAINING PRIOR TO YOUR DATE OF SEPARATION AND HAVE AT LEAST 180 CONTINUOUS DAYS OF ACTIVE SERVICE.

Job Description:

L3Harris is actively seeking a Systems Engineer (SE) to support requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne ISR and communication platforms.

Essential Functions:

  • Experience with Line-of-Sight data links and Satellite Communication systems
  • Design and develop physical and logical architectures incorporating Communication and Data Systems equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers.
  • Translate the customer requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements.
  • Define requirement traceability methods.
  • Lead systems engineering trade study processes.
  • Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
  • Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design.
  • Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
  • Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
  • Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to attain a DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level-an active clearance is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.)
  • Minimum of 7 years related work experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • IP Network architecture, analysis, and implementation experience
  • Implementing Cyber Security controls throughout a communication system
  • Experience with DoD-wide C2 systems
  • Experience conducting first article verification testing
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
  • Experience working with subcontractors and US Government customers
  • Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead teams through a system development and integration cycle
