Job description
Duties Operate the digitized audio system to announce emergency pre-recorded messages. Operate the facility wide system to convey official emergency notifications to the public. Retrieve statistical data from incident reporting systems to maintain statistical reports. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. This position is subject to rotating shifts where the incumbent is required to work an alternate work schedule, which requires an uncommon tour of duty (including nights, weekends, and holidays). This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain Advanced Medical Priority Dispatch System certification. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain Telecommunication II certification. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain DoD Hazardous Materials Awareness certification. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC) and National Crime Information (NCIC) training. This position requires the incumbent to maintain Continuing Dispatch Education (CDE) requirements. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain Continuing Dispatch and Intrusion Detection education requirements through in-service training that is offered locally and pass with predetermined course requirements. Incumbent must be able to perform work in a highly stressful, restricted office environment. Position is subject to recall to duty, and incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone at their residence to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. The incumbent must be able to obtain/maintain access to criminal justice information systems. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes interrogating callers to determine the nature of the emergency call and dispatching the appropriate emergency response units. Consults with superiors on personnel administration and management problems, which incumbent has been unable to satisfactorily resolve, providing recommended resolution. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08). Additional information The position is located at United States Army Dugway Proving Ground, approximately 50 minutes from Tooele, Utah, and a 90 minute drive from Salt Lake City, Utah. Dugway offers various alternate work schedule opportunities with most of the workforce working 4 ten-hour shifts Monday through Thursday. DPG is physically remote, entirely self-sufficient with government housing available for Soldiers, civilians, and Contractors. An AAFES PX, Civilian Authorized Commissary, Community Club, Physical Fitness Center, Swimming Pool, Post Chapel, Child Care, Youth Services and Tooele County K-12 school system are on post. Employees choosing to live off post may use subsidized commuter van transport which operates to and from many of the major cities and towns throughout Utah.
