Position Title Staff Pharmacist (Full Time or Part Time)

Reports To Title Pharmacy Fulfillment Manager

Exempt
Full Time Pay Class X SL/SB, Exemption: Professional X Non-Exempt (PT)

(FT) Monday - Friday 9am-6pm

PT Roles default to Non-Exempt, Hourly

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the complete pharmaceutical care of patients, including verifying prescription orders and handling inbound/outbound calls. Additional responsibilities for this position include building relationships with patients, prescribers and teammates, ensuring legal compliance, and understanding the standards and best practices of the compounding process. The Staff Pharmacist is a leadership role that provides support for the various Pharmacy Technician teams and pharmacy operations overall.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions

Ensures that the daily workload of prescription orders and compounded preparations are properly checked and verified for accuracy and quality in a timely manner so they can be shipped on schedule
Handles inbound/outbound phone calls including calling for clarifications and receiving new prescriptions
Performs a final check of prescriptions, ensuring all auxiliary items are included in the order
Demonstrates accurate and effective use of current pharmacy software programs
Conducts drug utilization reviews and drug interaction checks for patients
Oversees complete pharmaceutical care of patients
Follows workflow protocol regarding correction of prescription and order errors
Counsels patients and prescribers on medications, therapeutic recommendations, pharmaceutical compounding and other topics, quickly locating and utilizing necessary reference materials when needed
Takes ownership of pharmacy problems and challenges, seeing them through to resolution
Builds and maintains positive relationships with patients, prescribers, team members, Pharmacy

Technicians and pharmacy support staff

Responsible for opening and/or closing the pharmacy, ensuring pharmacy security by locking the pharmacy and setting the alarms
Assists with medication or product recalls, including filling out and submitting required paperwork
Ensures compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and maintains compliance with applicable state-specific requirements
Fully understands the non-sterile compounding process and is familiar with the level of quality expected for each preparation
Demonstrates understanding of applicable USP standards and best practices, specifically chapters and , as well as any corresponding chapters mentioned in and

As needed, may be asked to become licensed as a pharmacist in select states as directed by the company, as part of the licensure redundancy plan, and be willing to act as PIC in any or all of these states if necessary for business operations

Additional Duties

Upon request, participates in compounding lab rotation to provide additional Pharmacist coverage and create knowledge redundancies
Responsible for periodic educational presentations as needed for Worldlink Medical seminars, pharmacy team meetings and other events
Earns BHRT Specialist certification
Completes Worldlink Medical Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Therapy certification
May assist with the screening and selection process for new pharmacy openings
Occasional travel and periodic weekend work

REQUIREMENTS

Able to perform essential functions of position as outlined above
Must have current Utah Pharmacist license in good standing
On-site presence, consistent and reliable attendance
Willingness and ability to obtain additional state pharmacist license(s) and hold PIC roles, as needed
Pharmacy practice experience and knowledge of general pharmacy regulations required
Knowledge of and experience with compounding pharmacy regulations desired
Able to successfully prioritize and manage a wide variety of critical and/or time-sensitive job duties with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
Able to work independently while effectively managing multiple projects and priorities from start to finish, strong sense of urgency and follow-through
Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
Good verbal and written communication skills, responsive and communicative with pharmacy team members, company management, patients and providers
Personable and friendly demeanor, professional but approachable
Servant leadership focus, with support and advocacy of the team as a top priority
Demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems
Highly collaborative individual with ability to work with multiple departments and team members
Computer proficiency with G Suite and MS Office applications, as well as internal software systems
Strong, independent and ethical decision-making ability
