Job description

Overview DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join our IRS PC Refresh team. The Senior IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing large-scale IT projects related to the IRS PC Refresh initiative. This position requires extensive experience in managing complex IT deployments, coordinating multiple teams, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will oversee the deployment of new systems, hardware refreshes, and incident resolution while ensuring compliance with IRS guidelines. Key responsibilities include managing timelines, providing regular status updates to government leads, and ensuring that all project tasks are executed smoothly. Duties & Responsibilities Manage large-scale IT projects focused on replacing aging laptops and desktop systems at various IRS locations. Oversee the deployment of Windows 10/11 systems, including coordinating equipment deliveries, backups, and incident resolutions. Lead and direct a team of Computer Technicians, ensuring timely execution of tasks related to equipment replacement, shipping, and incident management. Provide regular project updates and weekly status reports to assigned government managers, ensuring clear communication of progress. Review and assign help desk tickets from the PC Refresh Project team, ensuring ticket updates are provided within 24 hours. Ensure proper installation and configuration of new systems and specialized software, following IRS guidelines and quality control procedures. Work with IRS Asset Management teams to ensure equipment disposition is handled appropriately after systems are replaced. Ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are taken when discrepancies are identified in ticketing information (e.g., hardware vs. software issues). Provide hands-on technical support when required, coordinating with other IT teams to resolve more complex incidents or system issues. Ensure project deliverables and timelines are met, adhering to IRS guidelines for system replacement, inventory management, and incident resolution. Qualifications Active Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. Completed IRS Minimum Background Investigation or ability to clear IRS Minimum Background Investigation. Minimum of 10+ years of experience managing large IT projects of similar scale and complexity. IT Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent). Proven experience leading teams in IT hardware refresh and deployment projects. Excellent understanding of Windows 10/11 system deployments and associated hardware. Strong project management skills, including timeline management, resource allocation, and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with government leads, end-users, and project teams. Familiarity with ticket management systems, including ServiceNow, and managing project-related tickets. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering efficient solutions. Experience managing inventory and logistics for IT systems.
