Job Title: Senior Specialist, Contracts Job ID: 14622 Job Location: 640 North 2200 West SLC, UT 84116 Job Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: Seeking a contracts professional to join a dynamic and highly skilled team. This person will manage large, complex, classified FAR Part 15 contracts and proposals projects with general oversight and work to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results. This position provides opportunities for problem solving and innovation that require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation. Challenges typically involve consideration of multiple issues, job areas or specialties. The ideal candidate will ensure that all contracting processes are conducted in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. They will play a critical role in negotiating terms and conditions, ensuring compliance, and maintaining relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Essential Functions: Quarterly travel may be required Current active TS Clearance preferred
Ability to obtain a US security clearance Develop and issue request for proposals (RFPs), invitations to bid (ITBs), and request for quotations (RFQs).
Evaluate bids and proposals for completeness, compliance, and accuracy.
Negotiate contract terms, prices, and delivery schedules.
Award contracts and oversee the signing of agreements.
Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled.
Manage amendments, modifications, and extensions of contracts.
Resolve issues and disputes related to contract performance.
Maintain detailed and organized contract files and documentation.
Ensure confidentiality and integrity of company contracts and procurement activities.
Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and procurement best practices.
Provide guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff.
Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies. Qualifications: Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.

Typically responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees. Typically responsible for managing complex projects at this level, involving delegation of work and review of work products.
Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) when necessary. Explains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, procedures and practices.
Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of job area. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: Knowledge of contracting concepts, FAR, DFARs, NAM, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and applicable laws and regulations.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) or similar certification preferred.
