Job description

Duties Serve as supervisor over surveillance teams providing managerial guidance and leadership. In support of the Command and Directorate policies and objectives, develop and review long and short-term objectives, plans, and programs that will enforce the quality assurance system to the installation's best interest. Through subordinate staff, participate with other organizations within the Directorate to develop detailed advance plans of ammunition operations and study procedures, equipment requirements, manpower, and funding. Exercise technical and administrative direction over all division activities. Interpret directives pertinent to assigned activities and disseminate necessary information to subordinates for compliance. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Direct the Ammunition Surveillance Training Program. Maintain liaison with higher echelons regarding new programs, production methods, test procedures, receipt of deficient ammunition from manufacturer, etc. Serve as the Installation point of contact for all matters within the scope of AR 95-2, Air Traffic Control, Airspace, Airfields, Flight Activities and Navigational Aids. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment. This position falls under the physical security of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Program and Incumbent must be cleared in accordance with requirements of Army Regulation (AR) 190-11. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
