The Manufacturing Engineer spearheads the development of thermal processes for both new and existing products, while also advancing engineering initiatives to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and overall department productivity.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Champion Safety and Quality: Foster a workplace culture where safety and quality are top priorities.
  • Lead Thermal Process Development: Oversee the creation and enhancement of ceramic thermal processes for both new and existing materials.
  • Enhance Process Efficiency: Implement improvements to boost yields, capacity, cycle times, and reduce costs.
  • Standardize Kiln Procedures: Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and control measures for kiln operations.
  • Support Equipment and Projects: Assist in identifying and justifying capital equipment needs and engineering projects to achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Optimize Processes: Utilize LEAN principles, statistical analysis, and materials science to refine machine and material process parameters.
  • Collaborate with Production: Work with production teams to monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot processes.
  • Resolve and Prevent Disruptions: Provide technical support to address manufacturing issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Develop Training Programs: Create and deliver training materials to enhance organizational knowledge and skills.
  • Manage Refractory Materials: Oversee the selection, performance, and procurement of refractory materials.

Profile

Ideal Candidate:

  • Educational Background: Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, Chemical, or Ceramic Engineering.
  • Relevant Experience: Possesses at least 5 years of experience with electronics and/or combustion equipment.
  • Engineering Expertise: Demonstrates strong skills in process engineering and design.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Experienced in operating production and laboratory equipment, including furnaces, ovens, programmable controllers, and materials characterization tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Exhibits excellent organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Possesses clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time Management: Shows strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Team and Independent Work: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within small group.
