The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will oversee the company's safety, environmental, and sanitation programs to ensure regulatory compliance and protect employees. Description

The EHS Manager / Lead Will:

  • Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging environmental health and safety legislation and maintain required record-keeping.
  • Manage service contracts for safety, environmental, hygienic, and grounds services, as well as facilities cleaning staff, including training and performance evaluations.
  • Analyze safety metrics and prioritize safety tickets for improvement.
  • Oversee emergency management programs and act as the first point of contact during emergencies.
  • Conduct weekly safety/quality audits and inspections, with reporting and employee education.
  • Promote employee engagement and safety culture through performance metrics and best practices.

Profile


  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, EHS, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing is a HUGE plus!
  • 2-5 years of experience in improving safety performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and relevant federal and state safety regulations.
  • Proven experience developing and managing safety programs.
  • Skilled in leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing prevention measures.
  • Excellent hazard and risk recognition with mitigation expertise.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate across all organizational levels.
  • Solid project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Local to Highgate, Vermont - or open to relocate
