Mayvin is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to provide direct accounting operations support to the CFO and Vice President of Accounting. Hands-on, cradle-to-grave cost accounting responsibilities. Track financial information in a well-organized manner and assist the CFO and Vice President of Accounting in all aspects related to accounting for the organization. Must have Government Cost Accounting experience. Responsibilities: Full-cycle accounting - responsible for maintaining the accounting system transactional records to ensure timely and accurate financial statements/project data Must possess strong Government Contracting Cost Accounting skills, proven Government Contracting general ledger experience, including assets, liabilities, and equity accounts, and working knowledge of Indirect Rates Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures Tactical tasks will include aspects of Accounts Receivable/Billing, Contract Awards and Contract financial performance tracking, and Accounts Payable Liaison with external parties to support tax compliance, audits, workers compensation, DBA insurance, DCAA, states, etc. Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies Proven independent experience in month-end close and year-end close Generate financial reports for senior leadership Monitor and analyze balance sheets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable Tactical responsibilities include set-up of general ledger accounts, vendors, projects, CLINS, and Troubleshoot system issues Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies and procedures Support CFO and Vice President of Accounting in all financial matters/issues including audit, tax, budgeting, finance, etc. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting 6 years of Government Cost Accounting is required 6 years Government Cost Accounting ERP/Financial Accounting system experience required (Unanet, Deltek GCS/Costpoint, et al.)
