KMS Job ID Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Technical Writer with TS/SCI clearance to support KMS and our government customer at the Mark Center, Alexandria, VA. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: Create and build out user assistance infrastructure, including how-to sections, FAQs, and Help sections. Develop intuitive, user-friendly documentation that enhances the user experience and facilitates the use of our applications. Documentation Creation and Maintenance Update, edit, and proofread written materials Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with company standards and guidelines. Work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, developers, and the product team to gather information and ensure technical accuracy. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Participate in meetings and discussions to understand project requirements and timelines. Review and edit documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines. Conduct regular audits of existing documentation to identify and correct inaccuracies or outdated information. Collaborate with Agile teams, participating in regular sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure documentation is updated in alignment with iterative progress and continuous feedback. Assist in the development of detailed design documents, including system architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and API specifications. Incorporate applicable NIST SP 800-53 controls into standards and best practices within documentation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field. Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the IT or software development industry. Strong understanding of technical concepts. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Proficiency with documentation tools and software. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Familiarity with Agile methodologies strongly desired. Must be a US Citizen, hold a current DoD Top Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience documenting cloud services, particularly Azure App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB. Certification in technical writing or related fields. Previous experience in a similar role within a government or healthcare organization. Familiarity with DoD/NIST security requirements. Working Environment & Conditions This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
