Classification/Program Protection Security Expert We are seeking a dedicated Classification/Program Protection Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide analytical support to the Counterintelligence, Law Enforcement & Security (CL&S) Directorate. This role is pivotal in shaping and safeguarding critical national security initiatives. Your expertise will help guide policies and practices that protect sensitive defense programs and classified information. Why This Role Matters: In this role, you'll have a direct impact on protecting some of the nation's most sensitive programs. By developing and refining security policies, conducting security reviews, and collaborating with key defense agencies, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the security and resilience of DoD operations. Location: Arlington, VA (Pentagon) - Full-time, onsite Key Responsibilities: •Support the development and implementation of national and DoD policies, guidance, and training related to classification management and program protection (about three times per year). •Facilitate and oversee security reviews, assess, and recommend security classification guidance and program protection plans (approximately twice per year). •Collaborate regularly with key defense entities, including R&E, A&S, DoD CIO, Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency, Joint Staff (J28), and others to integrate program protection, Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), counterintelligence, and information security policies. What You Bring: •Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility •Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. •At least 10 years of experience with national and DoD information security policies and procedures. •5 years of experience addressing national-level information security issues impacting both DoD and non-DoD entities. •Expertise in policy development, including drafting, formatting, reviewing, and reconciling inputs for DoD directives and publications. •3 years of experience coordinating policies and developing action memos, congressional responses, briefings, and participating in inter-agency meetings. •4 years of security policy or operational experience as a staff action officer on OSD, JCS, or Military Department headquarters staff.
