401K What will your day look like? As a Cloud Architect, you will: Assess customer needs and implement optimal cloud solutions to ensure efficiency and scalability.
Architect and configure cloud environments, applying deep technical expertise across production, staging, QA, and development infrastructures in 24/7 systems.
Develop and execute cloud strategies, focusing on migrations, performance enhancements, and cost optimization.
Set up development tools and automated infrastructure to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
Understand and translate stakeholder requirements into actionable goals for development teams.
Enhance automation across development, testing, deployment, and release pipelines to improve speed and reliability.
Review and evaluate code quality, identifying and addressing issues to ensure functionality and performance.
Conduct root cause analysis to resolve complex technical and business process issues.
Strengthen cybersecurity measures to safeguard systems against potential threats.
Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement software updates and patches as needed.
Collaborate with development and engineering teams to ensure adherence to best practices and intended functionality.
Support enterprise cloud applications through infrastructure as code, covering automated configurations, large-scale deployments, and CI/CD processes.
Document the current environment, perform gap analyses, and create artifacts outlining options and recommendations for improvement.
Employ virtualization and containerization techniques to modernize and enhance software performance.
Contribute as an individual performer while mentoring junior team members to build team capabilities.
Engineer and refine solutions, providing ongoing recommendations for service enhancement and optimization.
Deliver regular status updates and conduct cross-training sessions to foster team knowledge-sharing. You will be a good fit as a Cloud Architect if you have: Eligible to obtain U.S. government Security Clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field, or Bachelor's in another field with 2+ years of IT experience.
8+ years of experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing scalable cloud solutions.
8+ years working with two or more major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle).
8+ years of experience using Git version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
8+ years of experience in Agile environments for systems development.
8+ years in infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and orchestration.
8+ years of experience with DevSecOps tools and automation for deployment workflows.
5+ years of experience in areas such as database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, or analytics.
Solution Architect Certification (or equivalent) in at least two cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or Oracle).
5+ years in a client-facing or consultative architecture role.
Expertise in both AWS and Azure.
Based in the Washington DC Metro Area. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in an IT-related field.
Certifications in all four major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI), including:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert
Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect Expert
Google Cloud Engineer
Google Cloud Architect
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect Associate
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect Professional
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
Demonstrated experience in documenting current environments, conducting gap analyses, and creating artifacts with detailed options and recommendations.
Proficient in scripting languages such as Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby.
Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
