Data Engineer (Financial Reporting) - Hybrid VA, Arlington 22203 Security Clearance: U.S. Citizen, Current Security Clearance Skills: Data Engineer (Financial Reporting) - Hybrid Arlington, VA 22202 Tallon is recruiting a Data Engineer with data analytics experience to support financial reporting for the DoD ADVANA advancing analytics platform. Candidates are expected to have a wide range of technical and functional capacities with recent experience supporting the U.S. military in a Data Science, Data Visualization, or Data Engineering role and demonstrate a strong understanding of developing and enhancing data-driven platform capabilities. This position is a direct hire to our client offering a competitive W2 salary plus benefits. Role and responsibilities include: Collaborate with a team of government and contractor staff providing data expertise to support and streamline mission-focused data analysis. Support DOD in standardizing financial management portfolio and financial reporting using application codebase. Lead the automation development process and enhance data quality to produce visually engaging data analytics. Deliver actionable insights to assist defense leadership and stakeholders. Collaborate with a diverse cross-functional team to support multi-phase solution development, emphasizing data analysis, transformation, and change management. Assist evidence-based decision-making using data analysis and statistical modeling. Utilize historical and predictive data analytics to uncover cost-saving opportunities, optimize resource allocation, and forecast trends. Conduct scenario analysis to pinpoint strategic opportunities for achieving organizational goals. Establish performance metrics and facilitate ongoing evaluation and improvements. Engage in requirements meetings, workshops, and discussions with leadership and stakeholders as needed. Requirements include: U.S. citizenship Current U.S. government security clearance (secret at a minimum) 5+ years of data and software solutions expertise, including: Recent related experience supporting a very large data environment for a DoD and/or IC customer Experience supporting application codebase and compliance Experience working with application codebase for financial reporting Demonstrated expertise with digital strategy Strong working knowledge of enterprise architecture Ability to articulate challenges and solutions across the full SDLC Experience supporting data transformation Prior project management/technical lead experience in a related area Extensive experience working with data visualization and dashboard development tools Advanced proficiency with Python, SQL, Spark, and data science technologies Experience working with DataBricks Demonstrated experience creating data-related software applications from scratch Ability to articulate prior experience supporting military data problems and application solutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate in a blended team environment Proven expertise and prior success supporting high-profile customer engagements Availability to support hybrid schedule Preferred experience includes: Prior experience working with Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS) is a plus Knowledge of Qlik technologies including Qlik/Qlik Sense, QVD/QlikView, and Qlik Production Application Standards (QPAS) is highly desired .
