Job Summary We are currently seeking a Logistician. This position is located in the Arlington, VA area. Battelle's Critical Infrastructure Business Line group is seeking a Logistician for a team supporting the research, development, test and evaluation of security systems and technology for both the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). This is a full-time position. Responsibilities The qualified candidate for this position will support Battelle's Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities for DHS contracts. Responsibilities include inventory management of all current T&E equipment and materials located at the TSA Systems Integration Facility (TSIF) in a database application. Specific activities include the provisioning, tracking, and storage of all equipment and materials across various laboratory areas. Additional duties include coordination of calibration, replacement, and disposal for all equipment and test articles. Candidate will also be responsible for market research and procurement of equipment, materials, and test articles to support T&E activities. Candidate will be responsible for adhering to an ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality Management Systems (QMS). Additional tasks include performing T&E and facilities support tasks under supervision of, or from detailed procedures developed by, engineering staff. Includes assembling required test articles; setting up and configuring test equipment, systems, test articles, software, and the test environment for test; performing tests and assisting with engineering evaluation or analysis; reliably gathering, maintaining, formatting, compiling, and manipulating technical data; summarizing results and issues encountered; and returning test space, articles, and systems to pre-test state once tests are complete. Assists with other testing or facility operations activities as needed. Candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills. Additionally, candidates should have excellent computer skills including expertise in the use of applicable Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Expertise in Access Database applications is required. Key Qualifications Successful completion of study from an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
Must have experience that demonstrates solving complex technical problems associated with engineering, test and evaluation or scientific activities.
Ability to follow complex written or oral instructions accurately and efficiently.
Strong interpersonal skills (including team-building skills). The ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs, and to stage heavy equipment and test articles.
Sole US Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance
Eligibility and willingness to obtain TSA Security Suitability
Preferred Qualifications Experience collecting and archiving test data using MS Excel, Access, or similar databases.
Current DoD Secret Security Clearance and/or TSA Security Suitability.
